lol Moose I seen Iracing, I wanted to get it just for the Star Mazdas @ Infineon, but it's a yearly membership I think, last time I checked.

Wild, I have been popping up in FM 2 more often lately, but the last week or so, it's been pretty vacant. I'm running around 37.1 - 37.2 solo but 36.9 in drafting. It's not as easy for me with the controller, to take the corners smoothly. Hopefully over time I'll be able to fix the twitchiness of the analog control, without losing the handling of the FO8.

lawlz, this is an oval z-ro:

Lately I haven't seen many players online, let alone in the ovals. Is there something like a party going on we don't know about?!? xD even the bump drafters are like nowhere to be found...

It's all good though, gives me more track time to practice. Someone asked why do I drive so much on my own, and said I should get better @ drafting, not running solo. xD

I said I run solo more because the fastest driver doesn't have to draft once in the lead mostly, and you only get faster by driving more, tweak the setting a little, drive some more, tweak something else, drive even more.... etc.....

Each lap you run = experience, whether it's in a pack or just 1 person, but usually, I'm like all by myself in (FM) OvaL JuNkieS 3. Only around 1500 laps before I make it from Oval Lover to Oval Pro... yeeeeeeee

Quote from UncleBenny :-People that bring more than 7 items to the "7 items or less" express lane at the supermarket
-People that leave shopping carts in the middle of parking lots
-People that merge onto the highway going 30 mph less than the speed limit
-People that stand at that bar and chat with friends when its really crowded, so no one else can get a beer

duuuude I so agree with you on those. Although I don't drink, I can imagine how annoying those people are that just keep others from getting their drinks. If I was there and needed a drink, I'd gently nudge them over and be like "cough cough excuse me cough some more". like take a hint j@ck@$$ xD

Induced understeer is better then to have over a slight oversteer on front engine-rwd, and especially mid engine-rwd cars, mostly during the braking/coasting processes, as lifting off the gas transfers weight + added traction to the front tires, and braking in a corner with the added weight of the mid mounted engine will result in a spin. Oversteer would only transfer the weight faster and more suddenly, loading more of the car's weight onto the front outside tire, not both front tires, while unloading the rear tires.

The best setup I can imagine is one that's set to where the car can hit a speed and angle, that the car can accelerate, and maintain a constant arc through the turn with no steering or countersteering at all. It would basically be turned with just the throttle, right on the verge of road adhesion/drifting, and already on the gas, while other's are still managing to negotiate the turn, unwind the wheel, then accelerate.

LFS does it nicely, just needs a little tweaking for each person. Gran Turismo could have used a bit more, almost every car suffered from terminal understeer, and had to be trailbraked just to take most turns.

wasting 5 minutes of my life. ffs I feel like telling them "hurry the f*ck up when in a line, pay, and get the f*ck out the way."

slow drivers in the fast lane, usually any honda

neighbors that hit my car, constantly, and act like they f*ckin didn't

anyone that mass bulletins "goodnight/good morning" every f*ckin day, over myspace, yahoo, and twitter.

running out of gas on the last lap in LFS due to simple calculation error.

Quote from MadCat360 :But watch how one of my other instructors does it, from Jim Russell: http://www.youtube.com/watch? ... jUCIA&feature=related

lol Rick, white dude kinda like capt. picard haircut? If that's the same guy, I had him as an instructor too back in '02 xD. John is the b0m, he wears glasses, but you wouldn't think he could drive. He opens up a can 'o who0o0p ass on the track though.

Yeah, my side kick was just the most comfortable and more importantly, most consistent on both blips and braking. lol

Quote from obzelite :well you're american so excused again for missing the dig hidden in the cricket jibe.

lmfao0o0o if that's what you call insults, it should be blatantly obvious what I'm laughing about, as indicated previously by not just 1 but several other's.

Truth of the matter is your choice of words is irrelevant to bump drafting which is what we were discussing before you showed up whining that we were the ones whining initially.

So far I haven't seen you say anything about bump drafting actually...

Quote from lizardfolk :The only thing that's unfair about bumpdrafting is that it takes two skilled drivers to do it ...

naw man, I saw an FM member, Welty, and some other guy do a 3-man draft while rotating positions, at times running 3 wide. I should have saved the replay, sorry I didn't, but that right there takes more skill then riding someone's bumper.

I do agree that it takes skill to bumpdraft, but not that it takes more skill then doing the 2-person draft-pass-draft method. I should have saved that 3 way draft they did, it was quite an amazing sight to behold, and not 1 of them touched at all, now that took some skill.

whine me a new one

textbook definition of irony:

whining about other's supposed "whining", trying to make other's look stupid but ended up looking stupid due to a simple grammatical error. joking xD

rofl relax bro, we're not whining, t's just people discussing how an unfair advantage makes each of us feel, some are for it, other's are against it, but nobody here is whining, lol that's what you see in MySpace forums because half the time it's down for maintenance.

@ Tom, he always said "We're fixing it, DO NOT EMAIL ME, DEAL WITH IT." hahahaa, now I bet he knows what whining really is xD

lol I used to think faster was better, until I was taught to be smooth on the pedals/steering wheel input. I used to oversteer like crazy, before I knew how to let the car roll using light input on the pedals / steering wheel, only turn as much as you need to get the car where you want it to be, basically, and it will get there faster, instead of rushing which always leads to mistakes or jerky movements.

Quote from Keling :Girlfriend .............

Strange. How can a person be killed by 12V ?

The airbag on the Miata only needs 5v to discharge, the guy was in an odd position, sitting on the door frame, but the guy's head was against the steering wheel, while he was feeling around under the dashboard. I can't even imagine how bad that must have been. I just took both of mine out after I heard about it, I don't even want mazda to replace it, free or not, in this case I feel their safety measures are more dangerous to have, then to not have.

speaking of which, the I found the actual complete footage of the heel-to-toe scene I put in my "through the fog" youtube video. I shot the footage also on that same section of road, it's just a much better view, more detailed then the other one, since it's the complete footage, so you get a better sense of it.

Oh I almost forgot, I remember BMX saying we needed a server that's faster, I always use this one, it's always empty, and open to all cars, and all tracks, with all the options avalable...

500servers Lapper Testing

If I come across any others like that, Ill keep you guys posted. If I'm not in the FM o-junkies 3 for BF1's, I'm probably on 500servers. I'm gonna trake a look and see what's involved with hooking one up.

Ok guys, I been working on these a while, and got enough to where I'm satisfied, but they can still be transformed into whatever want. As some of you know, I don't mind anyone altering anything I make, as long as you have fun using it. Here's a few of them.

Includes the FXR, FZR, XRR, FBM, FO8, and BF1 skins, + 2 matching helmets

Download them here: Gradient Skins

Quote from XCNuse :...problem is I can't get my foot to stay at the same level so when I do blip if thrust the brake down more than I want to and .. well then I just feel like an idiot and continue on not trying any more lol

I have the same problem, it feels like I'm learning to drive all over again. The best way to correct it is by practice bro. Don't worry, you shouldn't feel that way, anyone that can do it also felt like idiots the first time we did it too. lol

Don't get discouraged though, how I learned to fix that issue when I used to do it, was to park on a hill, put the car in neutral, let it slowly roll forward, and brake only using the tips of my toes with my foot sideways hovering over
the gas pedal.

I didn't blip the gas, just practiced braking just hard enough to keep an even speed rolling down the hill. It took less then 10 times rolling down that hill to know how hard the brakes needed to be pressed.

Once you're comfortable with that step, now try doing it, car still in neutral, and start blipping the gas randomly till you find a position comfortable for you to do.

Once you find a comfortable position, now try hitting certain RPM's, like say brake and blip it to 4,000 rpm. Do that a few times also till you get comfortable.

The final step is to know what rpm the engine is @ in 2nd or 3rd gear for example, say 2nd @ 35mph is 4,000rpm's. Let the car roll to 35 and put the car into gear doing all those steps. If done all correctly, to where you were comfortable with each step, you will learn much faster then I did, because nobody explained to me how I could practice it, I just came up with my own way. It definitely helped.

Quote from Technique :I see over that two year period you also mastered teh art of the one handed driving. I thought I was watching a Bunta Fujiwara (?) tribute video with the whole one handed cigarette anime music combination.... weird..! Nice car choice though.. I had a `99 sport.

lol thanks bro! I actually been yelled @ by my instructors many times for that too. I always drive one handed, even barefoot if it's a long drive. lol One of them, Dan Garza (the one I'm giving bunny ears xD) always yelled @ me for driving one handed, I told him I don't see the point of using both hands when 1 is for steering, the other for shifting.

lol He then said it was the sign of a everyday driver that had a manual trans. car, but that he had to say it only as a formality. lol

Since that video, Ive added a few new goodies like the nos gauge on the left side air vent, and push-start ignition button where the cigarette lighter used to be. Here's a better look

Wiring up a miata has been a nightmare for me, everything has to be done by using a multimeter, and testing each circuit. Anyone that has a miata probably also knows this, there's no chilton's manual for it, and very hard to find wiring diagrahms that are accurate, it changed drastically from model to model as far as electronics goes so mazda never realesed a manual for it, or not one that I'm aware of
.
Also, Mazda Miata owners with airbags, there was a voluntary recall on your miata airbag they never said to the public for 91-94 miatas. Take it in and Mazda supposed to fix it, but check and make sure it's still offered.

Apparently someone was decapitated while trying to do minor electrical work, he tripped the sensor with a hot wire that completed the circuit and was killed by it. That's what I was told but I dont know if it's true or not, just another reason why they never released the wiring diagrahms if it was true. This was from a Mazda technician that was doing one of those free car care inspections.
